Christmas came early for Brooke and I this year. Five months early to be precise. Last week, we had the very exciting job of rounding up a group of Guernsey and Jersey’s finest food journalists to attend Waitrose’s Christmas press preview show in London.
All major retailers host similar events to showcase the new product ranges they will be selling in the run-up to Christmas, and while July sounds a tad early to be talking all things festive, many publications will be planning their Christmas editions months in advance.
The Commonwealth Club had been transformed into a Christmas grotto, complete with seasonal photo booth and it was crammed with journalists from across the UK all eager to learn more about the must-have foods and gifts for the 2012 festive season.
It’s just a few days to Christmas and the Orchard team have been indulging in mince pies, chocolates and even the odd Christmas tune in the office. At this time of year we like to extend season’s greetings to all our clients, journalist contacts, suppliers and colleagues. Hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
With the Christmas tree decorated, Christmas cards posted and mince pies in the kitchen, it is safe to say Orchard are feeling festive and would like to spread more Christmas cheer by wishing all clients, journalists, suppliers and colleagues in Jersey, Isle of Man, the UK and Guernsey a very merry Christmas and all the best for 2011!
Looking around the office we can spy bits of tinsel next to sparkling fairy lights and even a jaunty ‘chimney’ hat with Father Christmas’ legs sticking out from the top. Plus, the inevitable boxes of chocolates. It is officially Christmas!
As we approach the end of the year and the inevitable 11th hour deadlines, we’d like to thank our clients for their loyalty and friendship through challenging times for many of us.
From everyone here at Orchard to our clients, journalists, suppliers and colleagues in Jersey, the Isle of Man, London and Guernsey – we wish you a very happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!
